Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Dog Translator (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares when you use our mobile application. By using features such as account sign-in, audio/image/video analysis, and subscriptions, you acknowledge that we process the necessary account, device, and submitted media data described below to provide the service.

1. What we collect

• Account identifiers on device. When you register with email, sign in, or use Sign in with Apple, we store on your device your email address, salted/hashed credentials (never your password in plain text), and, where applicable, identifiers and email choices approved in Apple’s sheet. The current app version does not routinely upload this account registry to a centrally operated account database we run; it is used locally for authentication, membership association, and per-account separation of stored app data. Account deletion or uninstall clears that on-device state as explained in-app.
• Media you submit for networked analysis. The app does not provide open-ended text chat with the models. Interpretation is triggered only by media you capture or pick—audio recordings, photos, or short videos—which may be sent over HTTPS to whichever endpoints your build configuration points to, including any API relay/proxy we or a vendor hosts and third-party AI or audio-analysis services described below.
• On-device data. Assistant transcripts (media plus replies shown), journaling, preferences, and entitlement usage flags are primarily kept on-device until you clear data or delete your account.
• Optional remote configuration (CMS). If a CMS base URL is configured, we may fetch public-facing configuration or copy shared by all users—not used to personally identify you.
• Purchases. Billing is handled through Apple’s App Store; we do not receive full payment card numbers. Derived entitlement flags may be cached locally.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to operate and improve the app (interpretation, journaling, membership entitlements, and customer support); secure the service; prevent abuse; and comply with law. We do not use your submitted pet media to serve third-party advertisements in the app, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.

3. AI and service providers

For multimodal interpretation, prompts and submitted media may be sent to vendor-hosted cloud model APIs (for example, Alibaba Cloud DashScope in a Qwen-compatible mode in the default shipped configuration) possibly via an HTTPS relay. Exact hostnames depend on the environment baked into your binary or web build.

For audio feature analysis, recordings may be uploaded as multipart HTTPS requests to a configured analysis endpoint—such as a relay path or, if not overridden, a bundled default third-party acoustic-analysis service. Processing is limited to returning in-app results; vendors are engaged for service delivery, not advertising retargeting.

4. Sharing

We may share limited data with processors—including model hosts, audio-analysis providers, and cloud infrastructure that runs proxies or static sites—strictly to operate the features above. We do not sell personal information to data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect vital interests where permitted.

5. Retention

Account and assistant data persist on-device until cleared, you delete your account, or you uninstall. Each analysis request may leave short-lived processing or log traces with vendors and any relay you point the app to; their schedules vary. We minimise unnecessary retention in our own deployments; longer holds apply only where legally required.

6. Analytics and ads

We do not show third-party advertising inside Dog Translator. We do not integrate behavioral analytics SDKs such as Google Analytics.

7. Permissions

We request access to the microphone, camera, or photo library only when you take an action that needs them (for example, recording audio or choosing a photo). You can decline; related features will be unavailable.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us so we can delete it.

9. International users

Servers or vendors may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Your choices

You may clear Assistant history in Settings where available, manage subscriptions through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or use the in-app account deletion flow where available. For other requests (access/deletion subject to law), contact us using the details on the App Store listing or in-app support.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and adjust the effective date. Please review this page periodically.
